Guangdong Becomes Net Fertilizer Exporter

(May23)--Guangdong Province’s fertilizer exports surged by 51.1% year-on-year to 141,000t in the first four months of 2008 however the fertilizer imports dropped by 12.1% to 124,000t, based on Guangzhou Customs statistics. Guangdong was a net fertilizer importer from 2005 until 2007, but the Province has turned into a net exporter for two months since March 2008, with 32,000t and 9,748t in net exports in March and April respectively. Guangdong mainly imports fertilizer from Europe and mainly exports it to Asian countries and regions.
