China's Crude Oil Processing Output Increases in July

China’s crude oil output increased by 5% year-on-year in July 2008 and the processed crude oil volume rose by 8.8%, with the growth rates climbing by 3.7 and 3.6 percentage points respectively over June, according to the operational status report on the major Chinese industries for July released today by the National Development and Reform Commission. In the first seven months of 2008, China produced 110.5mt of crude oil and processed 200.36mt, up by 2.2% and 5.8% year-on-year respectively. With regard to the major chemical products, the output of ethylene, caustic soda, sodium carbonate, chemical fertilizer and pesticide rose by 2.7%, 12.3%, 14.6%, 6% and 21.5% year-on-year respectively in the period.
